Assystem are currently recruiting on behalf of our Sussex based client for a Machining Shift Supervisor. Working within their team of experienced CNC Machinists and Production Managers / Planners, you will predominantly be responsible for all aspects of running the production activities, in particular focusing on safety and housekeeping, quality and meeting output targets, as you work at their site based in Burgess Hill, on a permanent basis.
Our client are a leading precision engineering company offering complete outsourced engineering solutions operating five key sectors: aerospace, automotive, medical, industrial and petrochemical, and supplies to some of the world's most renowned industrial brands.
The role of Machining Shift Supervisor will be Reporting to the Production Manager will work on a shift based rota between a day shift and a night shift.
Responsibilities:
* Daily management of team performance and attendance.
* Adopt local performance metrics/KPIs.
* Ensuring the accuracy and time efficiency of production plans.
* Monitor quality through process audits and checks.
* Maintenance of Health and Safety processes with the team and near miss/ injuries are investigated and company procedure followed through.
To be considered for the role of Machining Shift Supervisor our client is ideally looking for the following:
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Previous experience within a supervisory role within a similar production environment (candidates from a similar environment within a senior role may be considered).
* Experience of CNC machine tools and programming, knowledge of machine setting processes.
* Knowledge and working practice of lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
* Proven experience in the uses of quality tools such as 8D or similar problem solving methodology, root cause analysis and the use of SPC and TPM
* Awareness of HR Processes and procedures.
